Nicollet - MN Just For Kix Director Brooke Mielke is at the top of her game teaching dance classes in Nicollet - MN to children, which creates confidence, dance technique, friendship and a whole lot of fun!
Dance has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. I’ve been involved with Just For Kix since the age of 9, when the program first launched in New Ulm. My passion for dance only deepened when I became an instructor in 2005, and later, a Director in 2013. I am currently proud to serve as the Director for both the Nicollet and Springfield programs. It is truly a privilege to share my love for dance with so many incredible dancers each season. In 2019, I was honored to receive the Developing Director of the Year award. Most recently, the Springfield program was recognized for having the Largest Full Season Class Growth by Percent during the 2023–2024 season—an achievement that reflects the dedication of our dancers, families, and staff. Outside of dance, I enjoy spending quality time with my family. My husband, Dan, and I are the proud parents of two wonderful children—Addisyn (11) and Bennett (4). Our family also includes two beloved dogs, Cooper and Bella. In my free time, I enjoy fishing, shopping, crafting, and baking. We would love for you to join our Just For Kix family. As an established youth dance studio, Just For Kix is a leader in dance instruction. We offer proven technical training, a focus on teamwork and a respectful experience to our students. With a strong balance of fun and technique in our classes, we create a teaching environment that is low stress and less pressure. I started dancing when I was 3 with Dance Express and later danced with Just for Kix for several years. Following high school graduation, I started assisting in Nicollet and eventually started assisting in New Ulm in 2012. I live in the country between New Ulm and Sleepy Eye with my boyfriend, Kendall, and dog, Lainey. Besides coaching, I am a nurse at the New Ulm Medical Center. Outside of dance you can find me spending time with family and friends, traveling, or playing volleyball. I am excited to see all the returning dancers along with new dancers.
Hi everybody! I have danced with Just For Kix for 15 years and this is my 5th year coaching. I have danced Hip Hop, Pom, Jazz, Kick, and Lyrical. I am currently attending South Central College, North Mankato working towards my degree in Machine Tool Technology. In my free time I am hanging out with my family and friends. I also like to paint and watch movies. I am excited to make more fun memories this dance season.
Hello! My name is Taylor Southard and this is my first year as assistant coach. I have been dancing with Just for Kix in Nicollet since 2009, and I instantly fell in love with it! Since then, I have been in every dance class offered to me such as kick, jazz, hip hop, pom, and lyrical. I have also danced in parades, and attended the New Ulm technique camp. My favorite style of dance is definitely lyrical because I love the way it better showcases technical work. Outside of dance I’m probably hanging out with friends, doing schoolwork, or by myself journaling, painting, and listening to music. I am so excited to help new dancers find their love for dance like I did this season!
