Spencer - IA Just For Kix Director Suzanne Harper is at the top of her game teaching dance classes in Spencer - IA to children, which creates confidence, dance technique, friendship and a whole lot of fun!
I started the Just For Kix program in Spencer in 2004 and am so proud of the students and its growth over the many years. I was also awarded the Just For Kix Director of the Year in 2014 and became a Field Coordinator for Just For Kix in 2015. Our studio has received several awards to be proud of - Sportsmanship, Raising the Barre, Getting Noticed, and what we are really proud of is being voted by our community as the Best Dance Studio in our area for the last 6 years! I started dancing at the age of 2 at Larye's School of Dance in Keokuk IA, where I trained in ballet, pointe, jazz, tap and lyrical through the age of 18. I was a member of the award winning high school dance team, the Keokuk Little Feathers, placing at state and nationals in kick, pom, & prop numerous times. In college, I was a member of the Iowa State University Pom Squad. For over 20 years, I have been a choreographer and coach for several different NW IA area high school dance teams. I also am the Head Coach of the Spencer High School Dance Team, the Tigerettes! I am certfied in Progressive Ballet Technique, Injury Prevention, First Aid, Acrobatic Arts, and each summer attend numerous continuing education opportunities to keep bettering my best! Dance is my passion and I am so excited to share it! I love to spend time with my family & friends, am obsessed with motivational quotes, and am a HUGE coffee addict. I love to read and shop in my downtime and find new songs to choreograph to! Everyone in our dance family is truly family. Thank you for your interest in the Spencer JFK program and I can't wait to see you in the studio!
As an established youth dance studio, Just For Kix is a leader in dance instruction. We offer proven technical training, a focus on teamwork and a respectful experience to our students. With a strong balance of fun and technique in our classes, we create a teaching environment that is low stress and less pressure. I am a graduate of Spencer High School and a student at Iowa State. I have been dancing for 15 years and am a sesaonal instructor. I joined Spencer JFK when I was in 1st grade which developed my love for kick, which is my favorite style of dance. Being a staff member at JFK has allowed me to not only become a better dancer myself, but has given me the opportunity to teach younger dancers and create relationships with them.
